Scotts in the Manx MCS article

I understand that George Stevens wrote an article for Motorcyle Sport magazine about Scotts in the Manx Grand Prix which was published in the early 60’s (62 or 63?). Can anyone tell me the exact date of the issue in which it appeared? Or does anyone have a copy of the magazine which they wish to sell?

Hi Jem,
I think you might be referring to “Tourist Trophy Two-Strokes” a book/booklet that George published in June 1965, rather than an article in Motorcycle Sport.

You are right, Jem, it’s what got me taking MCS all those years ago although it took 40 years to actually buy a Scott – I have it, March 1963 but it’s bound so a bit bulky (the things we do!). I’m away for a week but I’ll try to photocopy it when I get back if you have had no joy.

I would prefer the original magazine to a photocopy and, now I have the exact date, I can try the like of Pooks Books and other dealers. However, I would, of course, be grateful for a photocopy in case I draw a blank. Let me know what arrangements we can make re. costs and postage.
