As advertised in Yowl the Scott club annual gathering will take place on Sunday 18th August at Abbotsholme School, Rocester ST14 5BS from 10am.
Non members are welcome to attend. There is a charge of £2.50 per person entrance. Food is available on site. For directions google Abbotsholme School.
Unfortunately I shall not be there. My family insisted on me taking them to France for 2 weeks. A great shame as I really enjoyed last year.
Unless there is a last minute change of plan the Spares scheme will not be able to be represented at the Gathering.
I would urge all members who are attending to bring along any spares they have that could be of interest to other members.
We have as a committee decided not to advertise the event to all so as to avoid the influx of professional autojumblers who may snap up items before bona fida members get near.
If required I am sure we could set up a table close to the registration tent where small numbers of itemised parts could be displayed. Overseen by sellers in rota to avoid the need to be tied to the boot.
Please let Margaret know on the gate if you have parts for the jumble so as she can direct you to a suitable spot.

Eddie, do you think anyone will turn up with a spare fuel tank? 😉
Have fun next weekend! Looking forward to the pictures!
Cheers,
Erik

Hi, You ought to tell us what year and model you want a tank for. Also petrol only or petrol and oil compartments ?
Brian
I have a petrol only one, will be taking it with me if anyone is interested
My bike is a 1936 Flyer and therefor has a split petrol – oil tank. It had an apparent fuel leak and Eddie has been looking at it for me but it refuses to leak now! Very weird.
I’m wondering if it would still be worth having a spare tank on hand in case the mystery leak makes a reappearance though!
I am hoping to get up to Abbotsholme at the weekend but the chances are looking slim at the moment. Sigh. Why does life have to be so complicated.

My split petrol oil tank also had a slight leak from the petrol to oil side, I used Fedox rust removal treatment followed by Tapox tank sealant, the process was very straight forward, also remembering to use the correct safety gear, gloves goggles apron etc etc. The Fedox left the tank internals looking like new. The Tapox I thought was going to struggle to coat all the tank inside but I removed a good amount after coating, A small air supply lets the sealant go off quicker but you need to be in a well ventilated space. I have had petrol in this now for a few months without any problems.
I would use these again. Easily available via e-bay or other outlets using a web search.
see you tomorrow guys , three of us riding down from huddersfield , i hope i see a silk or two
And how was the weekend? Any pics online somewhere?
Cheers,
Erik

Super photos Eddie, and another top Gathering. Abbotsholme was as welcoming as ever, lots of good company and Saturday’s run was really enjoyable. Good weather too and I thought there were more bikes on the Sunday than previously although I could be mistaken. Altogether brilliant.
