I will be attending Abbotsholme as usual and am looking forward to meeting friends old and new. I have almost all engine spares except the barrels are only part machined and the new crank batch is now starting manufacture, so they will be about 16 weeks.
If anyone wants me to bring anything, just ask. I have aerosols of the special translucent barrel paint that I use, but I cannot send by post or carrier because of regulations. If anyone wants me to bring a can for them, please ask.
The question of 500 pistons is still unresolved and my old friend Ted Hills who has done so much valuable design for me in the past, is prevented by circumstances from starting the design of the 500 pistons. Unless there is some public spirited member who could take up this challenge for the club, then the club would have to pay for professional services. It is likely that the most cost effective plan is to design out the piston in 3D cad and then make hard plastic molds by 3D laser printer and then with good accurate molds, use conventional sand casting methods to produce good piston blanks. Kindest regards to all. Roger
