Steering Damper. Dowty Forks

Good Morning,

With reference to the steering damper fitted to Dowty Forks fitted to a 1948 Flying Squirrel. Could someone post a photo showing the method of attachment of the anchor ‘strap’ to the frame, presumably by means of a bolt somewhere between the twin downtubes. My bike has neither hole nor bolt in what i think is the likely position

I’m not sure if our ’48 is original or not but picture attached.  It looks like the lower anchor is bolted to the radiator bracket and not the frame.

Many thanks for your response and photo. Very helpful and I will follow suit. I will drill the radiator support in a position between the down tubes and fit a bolt and  distance piece of suitable length to meet the anchor strap and finally secure with a lock nut.
