"Technicalities" – Help with

Could some kind soul give me a sight of a “Technecalities” or even flog one to me? Pretty please!

I have the facilities to put it onto CD ROM if that’d help.

I’m an old hand at bikes but new to the Scott particularly in “kit form” so I’d like to glean as much info as possible before getting too serious.

It’s a 1950 registered 600cc Squirrel by the way, though the engine number seems to date it to 1947. Engine & frame numbers match the VE60 so unless it was in stock for 3 years I’m mystified!

Neil Levings got some copied and I suggested to Gill swan that she investigate getting some extra copies done for the spares scheme.
Phone or email Gill and ask.
I am at a Spares Scheme meeting this next Saturday and I want to bring up this subject. If the Spares Scheme does not want to be involved, then the next option would be to enquire if BMS wish to sell photocopies, as they already sell P copies of “The Book of the Scott”
As regards Tech on CD ROM.
We have thrashed this out at length before
Basically what we need is a quote for the complete scanning in a format that is searchable such as PDF (I am told)
Then a price per CD
Then I would submit to the senior members of the management comittee to ask if they would sanction the expenditure.
You must understand that the majority of our ageing membership and management, do not use computers and therefore their is a reluctance to spend money on something that can only be used by a minority.
However— With every year we now get younger members who are computer literate, so the ratio is shifting—

Roger – sorry to be a damp sqib, but I fear BMS might not want to publish “technicalities” as it is a collection of anecdotes and info from diverse sources, and may not be totally accurate as such.

It is therefore O.K. as an in-house document, but not sufficently accurate as a commercial publication.

Sadly in this litigation consious society we could be at risk if the document is published to the world at large, so I feel it might be legally prudent to keep it for S.O.C. Members only.

I suggest you raise at the Spares Sceme meeting – but remember, this is NOT my personal view, just my reaction to the world we now live in.
