Thakeray Washers

Does anyone know of a source of supply (I’ve exhausted mine) for the Thackeray washers used on the pivots of the rear stand?

If I knew the size I’d have a sniff around, my kit ‘o bits gives me no clue!

The sample I have borrowed measures;

O/D 1″ I/D 3/4″ Height 1/2″ Material thickness 55 Thou width 155 thou

There is apparantly a metric near equivalent but it has the awkward wrong inside diameter that is not easy to alter.

My local fastener specialists claim to have 3/4″ Thackeray washers in stock at about £10/hundred.

I’ve not been over there to have a look at exactly what is being offered but if it is thought worth it I’ll charge the the poor Granny’s battery and go have a look. If they are as specified I was thinking I’d buy 100, take a few for my “heap ‘o junk” and pass the rest on to the Spares Department.

One last query; just how ‘precious’ about sizes are we?

That sounds like a good idea and if they fit their fine but is there any chance of sending me a couple direct? Obviously I will send you a cheque to cover cost plus post and packing.
