“Eastender” vintage Scott riders may be interested in the Sunbeam MCC’s Constable Run on Sunday 5th September 2010. Machines have to be registered before 31st December 1930. The run starts from the Corn Croft Tea Room, Monks Eleigh, Ipswich at 11am, and is about 52 miles in length. The entry fee is £13 for non Sunbeam members, lunch can be ordered at extra cost.
I have entry forms, which have to be returned to the secretary of the meeting by Thursday 26th August.
Many thanks to the six Scott riders who turned up for this event, Roger King, Andrew Cunningham, Bruce Moore, Laurie Erwood, Cedric Clarke and John Perry, giving our chosen marque an overwhelming majority. All riders enjoyed the run which was short, but interesting, and encompassed the most beautiful Suffolk scenery. We all vowed to return next year.
I was on duty as recovery driver. I am delighted to say that my services were not required! However over just 52 miles the Scotts got back to base an hour before me, my pace being restricted by a painfully slow A C Sociable.
