Thread size in block for water tap

Hey all,

I am sure this question has been posted before but I cannot find it. It seems that not all postings since the beginning of this board are still online…

But, could anyone tell me the thread size for the watertap on the cylinder block? The tap measures about 10,85 mm over the threads and it appears to be 26 tpi.

The nearest Imperial size to your dimensions is 7/16″ O.D. but if that is correct and it is 26tpi that makes it a “special”.

My first inclination was to look at the BSP series but the nearest there is 1/4″BSP (0.518″ O.D. ( 13.15mm) x 19tpi), not very close! 7/16″ BSF is 18tpi and Whitworth 14tpi so not much help there either.

Someone who knows more, (and better), will sure to be along soon.

Outside Dia 0.383″ dia
Pitch 28TPI
Core Dia 0.337″

Thanks guys,

It seems I have to do some more/better measuring but I think the thread in my 500 is not original. The thread in my 600 block seems to be more to the size Roger mentiones.
