Roger sorry for having to reply to your comments this way but in reply to your message under spares list I would like to add the following comments.
1. I did not call John Underhill on the Saturday evening before the rally, it was he who contacted me to tell me that the club did not want me to sell my spares at the rally, this was in reply to a message I had left for him a number of days earlier, I had been warned off by some one else prior to that & I wanted to confirm that it was what the commitee wanted.
2. I did not know that I did not need permission from the club to sell parts at the rally.
3. I did not wish to sell any spares at the rally without permission from the club as this might have caused a great deal of trouble which might have ruined or in some way spoilt the event for the Scott enthusiasts who attended the rally.
4. I was told by John that the reason they did not want me to sell any spares at the rally was due to the vindictive “& unfounded” lies & rumours which had been spread by various self motivated individuals about the ownership etc of the spares that I have.
I hope this helps clear things up.
Bob…
P.s
Roger I keep my horns filed down these days & removed the bolt ages ago because it kept squeaking..
All the best.
Bob…
Hi Bob Thanks for that info. Food for thought methinks.
I do understand that my preference for having an open debate on any subject may not be to everyone’s liking, but until enough members tell me to shut up, I will continue to believe that an open and frank interchange of ideas is a sign of a vibrant group.
We might not always agree with each other, but I sure as hell welcome all inputs. We can not always be right and the opportunity to learn is welcome.
Kind Regards
Roger
Roger,
Thanks for asking the questions on our behalf. I certainly don’t want you to shut up. It’s silence that allows ill feelings to fester, if people have behaved correctly they should welcome questions. If Bob’s comments had gone without response, it would have appeared most strange. Open debate stops rumours from spreading that are often unfounded. Sorry I didn’t get to meet you at the gathering, got there quite late but had a nice chat with Gill Swan who is a very friendly lady.

Hi Rod
Nice to know that there others who like transparency.
Sorry I did not meet you at the rally
Call in if you are passing
Kind Regards
Roger
Roger,
I’ll be at the Stinkwheel tomorrow which is being held at Beaumanor Hall not that far from you. Meeting a fellow racer you know called Malc who is fetching along an A10 crank for my Ariel Huntmaster. We’re meeting at the RealClassic stall at 12 noon if you’re around give us a shout.
Hi Rod
I did not pick up your posting till after the event, so I missed it.
Cheers
Roger
Hi Roger,
As Publicity Officer of The Club and therefore responsible for our interface with the world at large, I feel you should be complemented on your forthright approach to resolving whatever issues might otherwise show us in bad light.
However, I note Bob Trickett says he contacted John Underhill to CONFIRM he should not attend the rally, and someone in The Club had previously warned him off.
Might I suggest you approach Bob to name who it was that originally “”banned him from the rally – and confirm it in writting. Perhaps then we can start putting all this playground politics into perspective.
Stan Thomas.
Hi Stan
In seeking to understand a situation that was not transparent, I have received contradicting information from the involved parties.
So– someone is telling “that, that is not” to quote Dean Swift.
In this case, a wise man will wait and observe for further inconsistancies before drawing conclusions.
Regards Roger
Hi Roger,
For Bob Trickett to be banned from selling spares at the rally is a serious inditement upon our club. Having said that, we will not get to the bottom of things unless Bob Trickett comes forward with the name of the person who actually did the banning.
All we have so far from Bob is an inuendo that he was banned, followed by some form of “confirmation” (allegedly) by John Underhill.
Have you spoken to John Underhill?
However, until Bob Tricket names the person who actually banned him, we can do nothing – and nothing is what we should do – unless we have more concrete evidence.
I suggest you give Bob a set period of time to forward the details you require – in writing – then drop the whole issue.
Stan Thomas.
