Tracing History of my Scott PSV 161

I am a new Scott owner and club member. I’ve owned the bike for six weeks and would like to confirm the first two owners if possible. The bike was first registered to Jenny Holder, with a Birmingham address, and she owned the bike from new for five years. I am wondering if she is a relation of Matt Holder? Would anyone on this forum know?

The second owner was John Farrar, with a South Croydon address, owned the bike for 11 years. I have managed to find some previous postings from a few years ago on this site for a John Farrar, could this be the same person?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

John Farrar is still around I believe, and perhaps will reply to this posting if he sees it. Is PSV 161 the original registration ? I ask because it looks like one of those “age-related” numbers issued in recent years. I’m assuming that it is a Birmingham Scott (?), in which case if you give us the frame and engine numbers, someone like Geoff Case or Ian Parsons should be able to give you chapter and verse on the bike.

Peter contacted me when considering purshasing this bike. It is a late Shipley frame that was built up and first registered in 1984 for the Holder family.

Hi Peter,just noticed your enquiry about a Scott registered to Jenny Holder.The info I have in my Birmingham Scott Register is as follows —Registration Number YOL 92 —Registered on 20/5/1959. Frame Number S1202. Engine Number DMS 2004. At some time it was fitted with a Velocette 4 speed box. I noted it changed hands in April 1996,and again in April 1998 If this is the bike you have it lost the original number to the “number sharks” about this time. This Brummy was Registered to Jenny Louis Holder .

Thanks Geoff for your reply. This is not the motorcycle you mentioned, my Scott was built on a new Shipley frame for the Holder family. I have sent you a pm with more details of my machine.
