The annual Weymouth Run went off successfully last Sunday, 55 miles around the central Dorset lanes in brilliant sunshine. About 60 riders were flagged off by the mayor (complete with corporation) at 11 am. Some very nice bikes including a 1914 Bradshaw, very unrestored i.e. rusty but with 3 speed countershaft gearbox, all chain drive and internal expanding back brake. Vincent twin, Mk 11 KSS, Squariel outfit and the usual postwar twins and singles as well as my 2-speeder. No problems on the way round and good pub stops. My max speed 52mph and only stalled once, on an uphill junction as usual. Well worth entering. Prix d’elegance won by a 1938 BSA sv 750 so nicely rebuilt it didn’t drop or weep any oil all day.
