When was the first yowl printed?

What happened during 1968 (How many yowls were printed in this year, especially in which month)?

The first Yowl was produced in August 1958.
In 1968, the first Yowl came out in February (Volume 5 No 10), followed by issues in April (Vol 5 No 11), June (Vol 5 No 12), August ((Vol 6 No 1), November (Vol 6 No 2). There were no October or December issues in 1968.
The next issue came out in January 1969 (Vol 6 No 3).

alex the yowls are very erratic early on but from what information I have gathered no1 was aug 1958, no2 was october 58 & no3 was dec 58

59 was march, may, july , sept december
60 was feb, june, october, dec
61 was feb, may, july, sept, dec
62 was march, may, july sept, nov
63 was march, may, aug, october
64-67 was feb, apr, june, aug, oct, dec

In this months yowl it stated that 3 “leaflets” (cant remember exact terminology) were post yowl, the first edition of yowl being aug 1958
hope this helps with your spread sheet & forward me a copy when you get it ammended

if anyone reading this has any early yowls & would consider donating or selling them to either Alex or myself to “try” & complete our yowl collections it would be much appreciated

If you would care to wait a short time it is the clubs intention to publish – on this site – the first 10 years of Yowl in .pdf format – Paul is – at this very moment – piloting the project and this will cover all the issues raised..
Also it will allow printing missing copies as reqd… better than nothing – ! 😆

That was me, sorry I could not find any other missing copies, I’ll keep looking. I am sure I put a ‘compliments’ slip in with it. Don’t worry about the postage.

Jon Hodges, of radiator fame, has the Club’s collection of back issues. and I’m sure he could help with some of the other missing copies.

I made an update to the Yowl – list shown above.

I have looked through my Yowl collection. Of those you still may be missing, I have copies of October and November 1964, October 1965, April and June 1966. I also have an extra copy of the 10-year index for volumes 6-10.

I also try to find the missing copies in my collection. Except for October 1960 and July 1962, I am missing all issues before May 1963. Further, I am missing February, April and June 1964, July and September 1970, July 1971 and June 1978.

If you or somebody else have spare copies of the issues missing in my collection, I would be happy to buy or swap. I have many spare copies, some in 1967/68/69, some in 1974-1979 and many in the 1980s – some in the 1990s. I regret to say that I have no extra copy of February 1980.
