Thanks for your help. the only suprise was that it seems that the lines should be gold! I think that the mention of an article on diamonds that Brian refered to is also mentioned in Technicalities as “Scott Diamonds” Feb 84. Do we go back so far with our records of Yowl. Just to muddy the water a bit more, A bit further along in “Technicalities” it refers to:- diamonds a reply, v14/3 april1985 where a 1936 FS was imported to Australia with purple panels.
I like the idea of gold lies but would hate to put them under several coats of laquer only for some smart rr to tell me that I got it wrong.

thanks to every one for their help finding a suitable bike. after a650 mile round trip ihave bought the 500cc bike owned by Eric Bayliss
as i am no light weight i may be asking for advice regarding conversion to 600cc in the future but first lets get rid of the bad weather and get some riding in. thanks again for the help & advice

Thanks for your comments. Andy Tiernan has sold the 1936 model, the 1940 was a misprint and I don’t really want anything as new as 1947. However please do keep looking. Many thanks
