I was wondering if anyone knows who bought lot 161, there is some of it that I would like 🙂
Have just heard from sprockets unlimited and they say they have the chain so looks like I all sorted.
Thanks for the help.
Sprockets unlimited don’t list it but I have sent an email to ask them, fingers crossed.
I need it for the kickstart chain on my ’14 P&M.
I haven’t considered changing the sprocket as it would need to have the same pitch and approximate roller dia to get the number of required teeth and it is then the width that is the sticking point due to clearane issues.
I have considered however that I may have to “narrow” some chain. I have the correct pitch and roller dia but it is too wide. If I dismantle the chain, shorten the rollers and pins then reassemble and peen the ends, simple 😯 It only needs to be about 43 links long, how long can that take 😉
If you would rather not have the stainless items be seen you can get them nickel plated too, I went this way on a bike (non Scott) I am restoring
Someone who I had a lot of contact with some years ago (due to me having a 2 stroke Panther) is in the BTSC. If anyone knows or sees Nick Kelly could they pass on my regards 😀
How about going the same way as a few other club forums I have encountered. You can read all forums without being a member and you get a basic search tool. If you want to create a topic or post a reply or access the full search tool then you have to be a member? It might be a good idea to have a couple of open topics, for example, ‘I’m thinking of buying a Scott…’ or ‘I would like to join the SOC but…’ where non-members (but registered users) could post.
Just a thought….
Exactly what I was going to suggest 😀
I am not sure if my point of view has been put forward yet as I have not read all of these posts, but here it is anyway.
I am not an SOC member, why not?, because I don’t have a Scott (yet). Why am I here?, because I have an interest and may one day seek to buy a Scott.
The actions of the club in closing this forum to members only is a very negative action. If I do buy a Scott will I join the SOC?, probably not. Why not?, because of this stupidity. It seems that not only are the committee making a big mistake they also seem to be unwilling to listen to the membership and consider other opinions. Clubs should operate in a democratic nature, not as a dictatorship or autocratic nature.
Wake up to yourselves !!!!!!
So it got 9250, what do you all think about that ❓ 😀
Yes I got the doc open, thank you very much, it has been a help.
Now that I see the Scott item it is obvious that it is quite different to the P&M unit. But then the P&M unit differed between different years as I found out when talking to other owners. Mine being ’14 has the expanding rings as part of the bronze hub whereas ’15 on and the scott have the expanding rings as seperate pieces.
That is good to hear about the minimal clearance, that is what I was thinking.
Thanks for the reply.
Here is what the P&M version looks like
I believe they are very similar ? This is what has lead me to ask the question here, what I really need to know at the moment is how much clearance is required between the internal drum (with the expanding rings) and the inside surface of the sprockets. I would think that despite and differences this would be the same/similar.
It may be of benefit to see the other systems so I would appreciate it if you could send those scans through to me. Please send them to me at sloper at tpg.com.au
