As in previous years, the Club has a stand at the Stafford Show this year. Although we are unaware of the exact location at present, it is likely that we will be housed on the balcony which is reserved for club stands. However, as the Show coincides with the 75th Anniversary of VE Day, the show will have a 1940’s theme and there will be a themed hall with a Hurricane and a Spitfire as centrepieces and things might be moved around.
Members are encouraged to exhibit their machines but need to be able to deliver to the Stafford Show Ground either on the Friday afternoon/evening or early on the Saturday morning. Collection is required on Sunday and cannot be before 5.00 pm when the Show closes. We would also welcome assistance from members prepared to man the stand for a couple of hours or so on either day. Free entrance passes are available but in limited numbers so that priority must be given to exhibitors.
The Club stand has tended to follow the same general formula for several years now so if anyone has any new design ideas or suggestions to freshen up the display, please let me know. Perhaps we could fall in with the VE day theme, remembering that we are still yet to spend the £1,000 prize money which we won for Best Club Stand last year. Could I have all ideas and offers of help as soon as possible as it would be nice to get the list of exhibits in the programme this year – something we have missed for the last few occasions!
