UNFORTUNATELY, THE ANNUAL GATHERING THIS YEAR IS CANCELLED. DUE TO THE RESTRICTIONS PLACED UPON IT BY COVID-19, THE NATIONAL MOTORCYCLE MUSEUM AND ITS SISTER HOTELS HAVE NO DATE FOR RE-OPENING AND THEREFORE, WILL NOT BE IN A POSITION TO ACCOMMODATE US.
SHOULD THE MUSEUM RE-OPEN, WE WILL LOOK TO REARRANGE THE ANNUAL GATHERING TO SPRING 2021 TO COINCIDE WITH THE AGM.
Admission to the event is free and there is no restriction on auto jumble and car boot sales. In addition, members will be entitled to free entry into the Motorcycle Museum courtesy of the Club. There is a café restaurant at the Museum and indoor facilities can be used in the event of inclement weather.
The Committee are looking at expanding this into a two-day event for those who wish to stay over and participate in a ride out on Sunday 27 September. This is likely to be a gentle ride out through the Warwickshire/Leicestershire countryside of little more than 45 miles, perhaps to another venue for Sunday Lunch. Whether the second day takes place or not depends entirely on members’ interest. If there is enough interest it is intended that local camping facilities will be arranged and perhaps special rates for hotel accommodation, both near to the Museum.
It will be necessary for there to be significant interest from members in order for the event to be extended. Those interested must make their interest known, at the latest by 30 April 2020 by email or otherwise to Lewis Onions.
