With the agreement of Paul Foster, the events Officer at Beamish Museum, ably obtained by Ian Reavley, the Annual Gathering will be held on Sunday 14 July 2019 commencing at 10.30 am at:
Beamish Museum, Beamish, County Durham, DH9 0RG
Beamish Museum is a world-famous open-air museum telling the story of everyday life in the North East of England in the1820s, 1900s and 1940s.
Although the Gathering itself will take place on the Sunday, members attending will have access to the Museum during the whole of the weekend and there will be a run from the museum into the Durham Dales on the Saturday, of around 50 miles. We have a volunteer with a van for rescue if required.
Machines can be ridden on the museum site provided riders abide with a speed limit of 12 mph, period attire is encouraged and crash helmets are not required.
There is plenty to see on site for those not riding, and the Metrocentre is only a few miles away for retail therapy.
There are camping facilities available at the museum, and there will be no charge for entry and no charge for campers providing there is a decent display of machines. There are B&B facilities nearby, and a large hotel for those wanting up-market accommodation.
Entrance to Beamish for Club Members will be via the Staff Car park using an automated security Gate, codes will be issued to all attendees. The show area for the Sunday is not finalised but is likely to be part of the Show Field near the Fairground which is reasonably near to the Caravan/Motorhome area.
Prior notification of membership numbers is necessary so those attending should send confirmation to Lewis Onions via email, telephone or letter as soon as possible. In case of difficulty, Ian Reavley will be on site from Friday evening.
SHOULD YOU WISH TO ATTEND, PLEASE CONTACT LOUISE AT LF@LEWIS-ONIONS-SOLICITORS.CO.UK OR 0121 200 7240 AND SHE WILL ARRANGE TO SEND TO YOU THE NECESSARY FORM TO BE COMPLETED.
THE MUSEUM REQUIRES THOSE PARTICIPATING IN THIS TO PRODUCE LICENCE AND INSURANCE DOCUMENTS.
Members are welcome to attend the weekend or one or other of the days.
