With great sadness, I report the death of my friend and long term North West SOC member Bryan Philpotts, at the age of 79 years, in Arrowe Park Hospital, Wirral, on Saturday morning 12 March 2011.
Bryan loved summer weekends in his mobile home at events up & down the country, revelling in displaying & riding his Birmingham Scott JSK 387, with his lovely wife Irene (and often daughter Carole) making cups of tea for visitors.
He was over the moon in December 2009, when Carole gave birth to grandson Ben, and could not wait for him to be old enough to be introduced to motorcycles.
About 5 years ago the Brum Scott became a bit too heavy , so Bryan sold JSK 387, but continued his SOC membership.
I am indebted to Bryan for acting as “stand in” for me at club nights, whenever work prevented my attendance.
Only last month, I called on him at home, where amongst other matters, he spoke of the events he was looking forward to in the coming summer.
He was ever helpful and was also well known at the Cheshire & North Wales section of the VMCC.
Our condolences go to Irene, married to Bryan for 49 years, and to daughters Debbie, Carole & family.
As soon as I know the funeral arrangements I will post them on this website.
