Thanks to all who have supported the North West Section during 2009, and for rounding the year off in style at our December meeting, where GEOFF GREEN solved a number of Xmas present problems from his regalia goodie bag, and special plaudits to JIM BAXTER for another very thought provoking, yet amusing, presentation, where, in amongst other specially prepared demonstrations, we were all intrigued by a motor driven magneto, with his secret “spark enhancement”, as he held the spark plug out, in his bare hand, by it’s terminal, allowing us to examine the bright blue spark! True electrickery!
A most enjoyable end to the NW year.
The date of our Spring meeting is MONDAY MARCH 8th 2010 commencing 8pm, at THE WHIPPING STOCKS pub, on the A50 between Knutsford & Holmes Chapel , within easy reach of junctions 18 & 19 of the M6. (The pub’s postcode is WA16 9EX)
Finally, further to his other skills, each year Jim Baxter writes a wonderfully descriptive Xmas poem of the year gone by, from which I have taken a mere couple of verses, as Jim & Jane’s good wishes reflect the sentiments of the NW Section:-
It’s Christmas time so once again
I’ve got this cunning plan
Lets all just have a holiday
This time – not the Isle of Man
A little break from all the woes
Each of us must suffer
To all the worries and the pain
Let Christmas be a buffer
A little bit of merriment
Is on the cards, I feel,
I hope the aces come your way
When it’s your turn to deal
Now Jane and I this Christmas time
Send best wishes to you all
We hope this year that’s next to come
Be the happiest of them all
