On behalf of the Eastern Section of the SOC I would like to say how desparately sorry we are to hear of John’s passing. He came to the very first meeting all those years ago, and rarely missed attending ever since, unless he was unwell or on holiday. He always brought along some or other Scott titbit for discussion or reading and so gladly helped novices or old hands with advice or information. Our Scott world is much the poorer for his passing.
