The date of our Winter meeting is MONDAY DECEMBER 12th 2011 commencing 8pm, at THE WHIPPING STOCKS pub, on the A50 between Knutsford & Holmes Chapel , within easy reach of junctions 18 & 19 of the M6. (The pub’s postcode is WA16 9EX)
We will be holding our TRADITIONAL XMAS SANDWICH SUPPER, funded by our one & only annual whip round of not more than £2 per head.
I am hoping that President JIM BAXTER will offer a few seasonal thoughts to tickle our ribs, and that YOU may be able to add to them – although last year’s Xmas cracker jokes may be booed off stage. As usual, we guarantee to de-stress you in the hectic run up to Xmas. The only person permitted to mention those dreaded words “XMAS SHOPPING” will be GEOFF GREEN. Just think of the pride, joy & pleasure on your face on the 25th when you find someone has bought you exactly what you want for Xmas, and in the season of goodwill, I’m sure everyone will turn a blind eye to the fact that it was YOU who bought it for yourself from GEOFF’s range of SOC gifts. Anything from a stylish warm fleece, polo or sweat shirt to a brass squirrel or a really substantial machine badge. If possible, to ensure he brings your precise requirements, give GEOFF a shout in advance, preferably by phone, on his number declared on the inside cover of Yowl, then come to collect, or simply choose on the night.
EDDIE SHERMER hopes to bring a newly refurbished gearbox for you to admire, and will be saying a few words about future printing arrangements for ‘YOWL’.
Come along to share your 2011 (or earlier) Scotting recollections …… and, should you have any Scott project problems please don’t keep them to yourself – bring those as well, to discuss in forum.
