Hi all, I have just started to do a ‘dry build’ of my next project, to make sure that everything fits and nothing is missing, before I pull it to pieces for all the repairs and then ‘cosmetic’ work like painting and plating. The bike left the factory in December 1930 and was sent to dealers Rossleigh in Edinburgh. I suspect that it was in trials trim, and it had a 596cc short-stroke engine and wide-ratio gearbox. Perhaps it was used in the 1931 Scottish Six Days Trial. More research needed ! I need a ‘coffeepot’ front expansion chamber, or just the alloy end caps as I can fabricate the steel part. The Spares Scheme only have castings for the blank end, not the outlet end, so at a real pinch I could get by with just the outlet end ! Has anybody got what I need ? My contact details are as listed in Yowl under ‘Section Information’, or just send me a PM if you can help. I am also keen to see any photos of Scotts in the 1931 SSDT.
