It is with regret that I have to offer my Scott Squirrel (BCN 315), up for sale due to a change in circumstances.
I bought her as a non-runner for restoration, and in my ownership, that’s how she’s remained.
This is the very motorcycle that features in the 1950 Scott brochure and in the famous photo of Bentley Rigg, Scott’s Sales Manager, astride the machine on Ilkley Moor. She’s the last of the Saltaire bikes.
I would very much prefer that she goes to a Scott enthusiast. What really concerns me is that the number plate is transferable and I would hate that a speculator buys her and then removes the number for a quick profit. That would mean that her important identity would be lost forever!
