Thats for the 1960 Birmingham. Generally its a very lucky man who buys a Scott project with a non – leaking rad. 🙁

The radiator for the other bike should have a slot down the middle of the core so that the top hose doesn’t foul the single top frame tube, and the core should be of the ‘honeycomb’ pattern.

Hi Paul, I have found your Brum on my Brum Register. It was one of three ” Specials” built with Norton forks, SU carbs, and modified oil tanks.so the SU would fit. The three bikes were Frame number S1233. S1234. S1235. Regards Geoff.

What front wheel was used in the Norton forks ? Norton;s own or one of Matt’s double-sided ones ? Were the double-sided hubs bought in from Enfield ?

Hi Charlie, Dunno ! Seen both fitted , so i don”t know which brake Matt fitted on these 3 bikes. The scott double sided brake was not Royal Enfeild as far as i know.

I saw a late Brum Scott some years ago with Norton forks. It had a single sided brake, presumably Norton.

Looks like Brum forks on a late Squirrel frame ?

That’s a Brum Flying Squirrel frame, and the forks could either be Dowty Oleomatic (air sprung/oil damped) or the Matt Holder version, which used the same yokes and legs, etc., but was fitted with conventional coil springs. Eventually Matt ran out of the parts and started fitting Norton Roadholder forks.

Hi Paul, Can you see the numbers on the frame and engine crankcase . Do they match the Birmingham Scott log book? GET the bits sorted out into two piles by a “Scott” man .There will be one not too far away, just ask!
