Every year I try to make a photographic record of all the machines attending the Annual Gathering. This year I endeavoured to photograph the nearside, then the offside of each bike as I worked my way round initially in roughly date order. However, stopping to chat to friends of old is an essential part of the day, so apologies for any hiccups in “continuity” on resuming after these important interruptions, and any duplications which were of particular interest towards the end.
I must resolve to photograph these friendly faces as well next year. At the end of the the presentation is SOC President Jim Baxter with 2 of the clocks that he has constructed, the smaller one of which is a replica of an electromagnetic clock patented by one of Alfred Scott’s brothers around 1900.
It is the first year that I have not been able to look forward to sharing the photos with North West member Harry Walton, who passed away last year at the grand age of 94. Harry’s son in law Bill Webster (alias “ruziggy”) has committed my photos to YouTube.
The presentation is dedicated to the memory of dear old Harry; I hope you enjoy it.
