Ok, so use cellulose would be probably closest to the authentic materials, as the bike is 27. By Scott technicalities factory started to use cellulose in about 29-30. Not far away.

As much as I know from Velocette guys, it is possible to ask individual if they could make a bike. Is this technology closer to original stove enamel used between the wars (as I would expect), or closer to the modern stove enamels? Just to know. It’s a bit confusing for me, as I´m slowly getting names of technologies in English.

    Thanks a lot,

    Martin

    Interesting tips, thanks.
I think cellulose paint were used from about 1929-30, before was oil based paint, if I’m right?
I’m not sure if Scott used same technology as Sunbeam? Is this one possible to get somewhere?
    What technology is Hammerite?
Of course cellulose is still much better for vintage bike than acrylic based paint. So it’s still much better to use BLACK BLACK cellulose to get satisfactory result.
Long eaton stove enamellers bought Ivan Rhodes family to use for their bikes. When was this technology originally used? Was it used by Scott?
    Thanks,
    Best,
    Martin

    Hi Brian,
I’m from Czech republic, but I could try to ask my friend who is living in Manchester now if he has time to do it. He is leavind 14th, but I’m not sure if he gets my email in time. Other possibility would be to scan the drawing. Just let me know scan is possible for you. If not, I could send you money for the post cost in the envelope.
    Thanks a lot,
    Best regards,
    Martin
