I used RS bike paint purple as well for my 27 flyer. Seems a bit different when comparing with my friends tank (I think he mixed the paint by the example from Brian, if I’m right?) but it was just small example strait on the piece of steel. Base paint under can make a difference as well. I wasn’t comparing final piece yet, but attached are the pictures of my friends tank and my example and the tank (before final polishing).
Just not 100% sure about red line, I was just guessing, but hope it’s ok. They are hand made by old guy making the lines for all bikes around, perfect work by the way.
Thanks for your detective work Carl 🙂
Hi,
Brian, I think the drawings would be the best option, the post cost would be quite high and carrier is not that difficult to make here. Even I can buy 1/2″ tubes here. Please let me know if you find it. Thanks a lot,
Martin
Hi Graham,
I don’t have last month Yowl yet, will check it when I get it. I was asking at Velocette club, but didn’t get answer yet (probably lost email).
Thanks, Martin
No, it was casted in Czech republic in Dvur Kralove nad Labem. They are making all medals and plaques for the Old racing club in Dvur Kralove, they do very good work there. Just of course would be probably too expensive to manage the transport company…
I still have to make the pictures of the bronz original when I’ll visit Pavel next time.
Thanks, nice to hear you like the work 🙂
Hi Roger,
just checked the rings, mine is standard 1″

Hi Roger,
I react to your new topic about the Timken taper head races. I just need couple for my Flying Squirrel. I guess 27 model has the same once? Im not sure about exact inner size, if there is needed 1 or 1.0625″. I can measure this next week. But I guess its gonna be standard size for all Scotts?
Thanks, best regards,
Martin
Hi Brian,
thanks a lot for your answer. If I’m correct, this hollow bolt holding the gear lever should be this one from the Spare parts scheme?
155 Hand Change Gear Lever Retaining Screw – S/S
Thanks, Martin
Hi Carl,
thanks, nice to hear 🙂

Hi Brian and all,
I’m sculptor and I do coin and medal design as my “bread”. I designed few plaques for the clubs in Czech Republic. I can do design and manage the casting here in CR, or I could make design and send the model to cast in in GB. You can check some of my work and if you like it, let me know, I’ll be glad to do some work for the club:

Hi Brian,
there are saddle spring lugs, but I’m also not sure if those are original. Bit more visible on the photo here.
I will send the frame number to Ian, also could make sense to ask in VMCC. I will write if I get more information.
I gave the handlebar to my friend, he will try to compare them with once on the bike here.
Thanks, Martin
Hi Brian,
here are first pictures of the frame and frame number. Let me know if you need some more details.
Thanks,
Martin
Hi Brian,
thanks for the answer. If it helps, I could make more measuring of the handlebar.
As I’m thinking, one friend could know owner of 48 Flier, so he could compare it with those, if there are still original once.

Hi, check vintage replica. They are going to british jumbles as well:
Roy,
I studied some period pictures of the 1927 Flyer and found that the 27 down pipes were strait. It’s possible to see in the pictures. Strait was also at the Brian’s 27 Flyer. Seems like bended once were used for 29/30 season. So strait should be right. Graham will make me new coffee pot, so I sent him this information as well.
Billy, how is your progress now?
Martin
