Hi Ted,
do you remember at least about the time it was published? I could ask Pavel Simek if he has copy of this one. I could scan it and photoshop the fold.
Martin
yes, looks like. I guess it should be A4, as are usually old brochures. If it would be made good scan, I believe it’s possible to print about A2 poster, maybe bigger. Someone from the club has to have it, as it’s on the main club page 🙂
I just don’t have original poster (flyer) to scan… someone who has it and could make big resolution scan?
Hi,
do you have some photos of the barrels painted by Rogers paint?
Roger, is it possible to send the paint?
Thanks,
Martin
Hi,
just back to the old topic… I need to repaint my barrels as well, and during the searching I fount Translucent crimson for 2 speeder cylinder barrels in the Badges and Regalia topic here at the forum (item 26). I guess, it sshould be same one as early Flyers used?
Thanks,
Martin
Hi James,
thanks for the link. Pictures helped 🙂
Best,
Martin
Hi Brian,
thanks a lot for the answer. As I know, some Lycettes were with the rubber called “aero elastic”, Velocette used them for most of the K models.
Someone knows if there is someone making imitation leather covers? I cannot find right imitation leather pattern here, but friend of mine bought some imitation leather cover at the jumble in England, but it’s long time ago and he don’t have a contact.
Thanks, best,
Martin
Hi,
after long searching I have decided to order RS bike color black. They have in the offer Scott Flying Squirrel Violet, listed for 1949 and 1950 model. Has someone experience with this shade? Is it the same as 1927 model?
Thanks,
Martin
Thanks for the answers.
So seems like my bike could have both exhaust systems. Numbers were restamped, but all details are 27 / late 27 bike (strait front forks tubes, crank case, fuel tank witj the oil pump, 27 enfield rear wheel etc.).
As written in the Scott technicallities, late 27 bikes has less nickes plated parts, as kickstart, gear level & gate, brake plate. Was those parts painted black or was it black by the chemical way? (just not sure how is English term). I’ve seen also black or nikel handlebar. What is correct? Are there some other differences in the finish?
Thanks,
Martin
Hi Brian,
thanks for your answer.
Yes, no problem with the handlebar, just when you can do it, no problem.
Thanks a lot.
Martin
Hi,
I’m not sure if I’m right, as far as I know, rim size was optional. On my 27 bike was 19″ rear rim and 20″ front.
Martin
Hi Brian and Billy,
I have a one question about 27-28 Flying squirrels. Is the crank cases casting the same for 28 as 27? This is one think I’m not sure, if they used strait back still in 1928.
If it would be possible, I would ask if Andrew Marfell could send me the scans of the period pictures as well please? I would be very happy to have those period pictures, it would help me a lot.
I’m just in contact with Graham Moag who should make me coffee pot for 27 flyer, so it could be good to write him, he could make two strait away, if you need this one. You wrote you are just putting coffee pot, so this is just in case you have later type.
If you write me email, I could send you some of the pictures of my 27 bike. My email: velocette26@gmail.com
Best,
Martin
Hi Brian,
perfect, thanks for informations 🙂
Martin
Hi Ian,
yes, diameter of the cranks is 1,5 mm bigger than the crankcases doors. Canals on my cases are 52 x 16,5 mm (outside size) and inner size seems to be the same. Someone has opportunity to measure long stroke cases?
Thanks,
Martin
Hi Brian,
of course I know Pavel. So if it’s the same shape, it could be easiest to copy his handlebar. That’s perfect 🙂
Thanks a lot, best,
Martin
