On behalf of Steve may I remind you this meeting is deferred to Wednesday 22nd July on account of the World Cup football and several members being unable to attend for other reasons. Hope to see you tomorrow.
Next Wednesday 22nd July is our next section meeting at the Fox and Hounds, Tilburstow Hill, Godstone, Surrey at 7.30 – 8.00 pm.
Do come along, all welcome.
All SOC section secretaries and committee members now have further details of the 2025 Scott Owners Club Annual Gathering at the Lichfield Rugby Club which includes notes from our hosts, the Velocette Owners Club, route sheets for the Saturday “ride out” and local maps. If you prefer a paper copy but can’t print it I am happy to provide one and will bring some hard copies to The Gathering anyway. At the other extreme, you might also be interested to know that the SOC editors have redesigned the three route sheets into gpx format which can be loaded onto your Android mobile phone. Please ask if you would like to have this addition.
The VOC notes mention a charge for formal autojumble pitches. This does not apply to us, our “boot sale” pitches are free, please bring all you can muster. Please pass this information on to members and anyone with an interest with Scotts and Silks, Looking forward to this event, hope you are too. Make contact if you have any questions

Another reminder, the Scott Owners Club have a stand at the International West Kent Rally on Sunday next, August 4th 2024. The show is held at The Friars, Aylesford, Kent, ME20 7BX. Please bring your Scott, or at least call at the stand for a chat. Look forward to seeing you.
Please see yet more notes and reminders in “Scotting” Events.
Sorry to report there isn’t enough interest for a Club bring-your-own BBQ, so this has been deleted from the arrangements. Of course you can bring your own cooking facilities if you wish. Also there is a club house and an independent pub on the site and more eateries nearby. Otherwise we are going ahead as planned, despite the side effects of weather, football, tennis and politics.
Those attending will be able to purchase regalia, we are expecting a good supply of Scott related jumble.
The Rugby Club site will be open from Friday afternoon onwards. Campers can stay on ’til Monday morning if it suits them. Please bring locks and chains for your bikes if you are leaving them unattended overnight.
The ride out will leave the Rugby Club at 10 or 11am on Saturday morning. there are various options available. The routes have been plotted by the VOC and will be available on A4 size paper on the day.
Our Scotts will be on display at the Rugby Club on Sunday with judging and prize giving on Sunday mid-afternoon.
Make sure you lock your car, van, motorhome etc at all times when unattended.
Please see further notes in “Scotting” Events.
A member asked for more details of the “ride out” which is on Saturday 6th July and part of the Scott Owners Club Gathering. As noted previously, we are sharing our Gathering site with the Velocette Owners Club. Here are some advanced details of the ride.
On Saturday at around 10 -11am those who wish to take part will ride to the Chasewater Steam Railway at Brownhills West Station who have organized their own “Motorcycle Meet” on this day. We have an invitation to show our Scotts and Velocette machines in this Motorcycle Meet event. It’s open to the public and for all makes, types and age of two or three wheeler machines. Please see the attached brochure for more details, be sure to scroll down to see all the information. The Chasewater Railway is only 8 miles from our site but the VOC have prepared an outbound 30 mile scenic route which we are welcome to share, not necessarily at the same time, as we don’t want to encourage any inter-club competitive riding!. We can stay at Chasewater for as long or as little as we like, have coffee, lunch if required, and then homebound via a different 28 mile scenic route. The scenic routes are optional and it’s preferable to ride a Scott, but not essential. Those not riding can go straight to Chasewater in their own transport if desired. I include the route sheets if you need them in advance.
Some more points that I hope will answer other members questions. Campers will be able to use the Rugby Club’s showers and toilets as previously noted, there are additional temporary toilets on the site. The Rugby Club have an informal cafe on the site and this will be open on Sunday morning (not on Saturday as previously stated) for “brunch” style light cooked meals. The SOC have to give a guesstimate of our numbers?? The SOC can join with the VOC autojumble if we wish, or do our own thing in our own area. We’ll decide on the day. The Scott Club are proposing to provide a “bring your own food” style BBQ and social gathering on Saturday evening if there is enough interest. Mainly for campers, but all welcome.

The Scott Owners Club (London Section North) section meeting is at Broadlakes Social Club, Shenley Lane, London Colney, Herts., AL2 1DG. at 8pm on the third Monday of the month, except December when a Christmas gathering is arranged. For more details contact Richard Martin on 01727 859796. All very welcome, but check with Richard before travelling as attendance has been sparse recently due to several factors.
Did you try “Joe the Carb”? Details in Yowl under ‘sources of supply’. He seems to be able to recondition any Scott carburettor of that era, definitely worth a call.
Best of luck.
I believe the frame number relates to 1929. Check with Ian Parsons.
Search Google for LUCAS W94421
Hope it helps.
Received, again, with my grateful thanks.
Richard
Many thanks.
I found the original number plate in Glyn’s collection of spares.
