Hi Jon.
Thanks for making this posting, and, what a nice surprise! I purchased BKY 273 from you in 2004. I still have it, in good condition, going strong. I lived in Elstree at the time, but moved a couple of years ago to West Byfleet in Surrey.
I would be very pleased to have the original logbook. If you are still at St James Rd, shall I send you a self addressed envelope?
I am membership sec. for the SOC so my contact details are in the “how to join” section.
Wish you all a happy and healthy New Year.
Richard
I am sure you can buy bonded clutch plates from the SOC spares scheme.
If you are at the West of Kent on the final Sunday, please put your Scott on display on the club’s stand. We could do with a few extra bikes to put on a good show.
Well, it was 16 years ago! Is this it?
According to Feb Yowl the Scottparts operation has been partially taken over by Kevin Bayliss. Also Eddie Shermer is near to you. And keep trying Roger Moss, I am sure he is in his workshop, probably just can’t get to the phone.
All contact details on the back page of Yowl.
Best of luck.
Dave
I read somewhere there is currently a worldwide shortage of holes due to Brexit and Covid. Let’s hope our favourite watering hole isn’t affected!
Richard
A reminder the Kop Hill event is this coming weekend, we look forward to seeing as many SOC members as possible, and putting our machines on display. Please support our club!
We understand Roger Moss will be attending with his rebuilt Scott racing machine and has been invited to ride in the hill climb.
ooops…. that should read “Future meetings take place on the THIRD Monday of each month…”
I have the proper tool with four prongs if you are stuck. I could post it.
For accounting simplicity the spares secretary, Graham Moag, prefers to keep the finances of the scheme separate from the main Club accounts. Please deal with Graham direct, contact details on the inside rear cover of Yowl.
Keep well.

Our card index system, now recovered from storage, shows you enrolled in the club in October 1975, membership no 501. Your Scott is listed as 1950 reg KYU 98 engine DPY5395 frame 5302
I have the pre-computer SOC membership card index system. I can look up members from this era, sometimes the cards also have notes on the Scotts owned. Just at the moment the index is in storage due to my house move. I’ll have a look later in the year, it might be prudent to remind me!

Very few club members turned up to this meeting. After consultation with those present, the Broadlakes manager, and other regulars by phone, we decided not to organise any more monthly meetings until further notice. The latest government guidelines apparently support this decision.

See “The Life and Times of Captain Sir Tom” – Thursday 13th August at 9.15 pm on ITV. There is some archive material which might be interesting to Scott enthusiasts.
Many thanks. I did look for this Scott in the books I have available here, including The First Scott Scene, but couldn’t find it. Actually, I still can’t, must be lock-down fever setting in.
I see the registration is UU 906, and thanks to Brian’g guidance toward Arthur Fogg, there is an extensive article on the machine in October 1963 Yowl.
Third time lucky….. doh!!
