Thanks guys, that’s very helpful, and they more or less match which is a good sign ?
Sorry it’s a 1958 Birmingham Scott
That’s disappointing having just paid a fortune to have it repaired 🙁
So what am I supposed to do ! and what do others do ?
Good question, but what’s the alternative ? Quality Chrome say they can’t do it 🙁
Thanks Brian, that’s a coincidence I’ve just emailed them 😀
Finished repainting, and they look good, lets see how they cope with the heat when I get her back together.

Thanks I’ll try that
Northern Radiators have said it will need a new core, which will be in the order of £600, which may also damage the chrome, so it may need re chroming. I’ve no idea how/if I could source another one, and whether that would be cheaper, can anyone help?
Is yacht varnish up to the high temperatures ?
As HMG no longer produce the magenta glass lacquer, and I don’t want to have to take the barrel off again to spray it, can anyone recommend an alternative brush on finish to use ?
I’ve now fitted the A Reg Six regulator and LED bulbs from Paul Goff at https://www.norbsa02.freeuk.com/ and all working fine, lets see if the battery lasts a bit longer 🙄
Thanks, I’m near Leeds so I might try Northern Radiators, has anyone else used them ?
That was useful, definitely nothing on the bottom of the case, but there does feel as though there is a hole where the side mount goes. So is it possible to convert to a rear mount, and is it a specialist job?
I can’t see any spindles, so guess it must be a non trip case 😕
