Hello Philip
Yes why not. The pipes are in Germany. I am curious how you would manage the shipping to UK with all the Brexit issues. The pipes have never been used. The bike was in a private museum in Austria and later in Germany.
kind regards
Wilfried
Thank you!
Maybe it has to do with the “powerful” acceleration of the Scott. If the chamber is mounted on the back the fuel may be stopped to enter the chamber during acceleration. If mounted in front of the carb the fuel will be forced to flow in the chamber.
Hello,
I know a bike with a number very close to the one you mentioned. Unfortunately I do not have access to this exclusive members only area. I have learned not to write sensitive information here ….
This is not the way a forum works properly! Sorry for you
Wilfried
Hallo Max,
Hello Antonio,
I am just 3 hours away from Milano. If you would like to see/feel/smell a 1914 Scott (identical to the 1913 model) in action, please give me a message.
Wilfried
Hmm, this sounds too complicated and it will probably not work. People interested in a Scott will not be patient enough to find out how this closed but a little bit open forum works. Who will spend the time to post and look in two sections of a forum? The open-forum-posters will probably develop some mistrust because there is something hidden.
If you want to “sell” the club to prospects, the shop window should be transparent, clear and easy to access for all. A closed forum is none of that!
Some people learn the hard way and some listen to others. I am sure there is much more knowledge about Scotts here than I have. But Scott and Clubadmistration knowledge is not good enough to understand how the open web society works.
Kind regards
Wilfried
I never believed that people could be so short sighted as this club seems to be, I am very very disappointed.
Anyway the conversation about this issue was mainly not from this decison makers so my impression is that all arguments have been in vain because it was never seriously considered to think again about this.
I ASK THE ADMINISTRATOR TO REMOVE ALL MY POSTS AS I HAVE POSTED IN AN OPEN FORUM AND I AM NOT WILLING TO CONTRIBUTE TO AN EXCLUSIVE, CLOSED FORUM!!!!
PLEASE CONFIRM!
Kind regards
Wilfried

People are simply posting in the wrong place and the only way to get them to do it correctly is to make it members only. The open part of the forum should be for general enquiries and advice to non-members, but the advice should also activley enourage them to join us. Lee
hmmm … people have to post where the committee likes it. People who posts in the wrong place are probably the wrong people …
Why do you believe you will get those wrong posters to join the club? My english is not very good but to “make” a member sounds strange to me, maybe I am wrong.

If the SOC forum does become closed, I (as an SOC member ) will certainly not bother with it.
Sorry, I do not understand this perfect: Do you mean the SOC or the forum?

Re Wilfried ‘s and other comments.
I was under the impression that Overseas Members of the SOC could vote at AGM’s via email? Correct me if I am wrong (being by nature a very self effacing person!!!!!!!!!)
Hmmmm …. a vote via email cannot replace a discussion.
Kind regards
Wilfried
Hi,
I can confirm this. When I was am member it was not possible for me to get access to the members area. I can´t remember why, maybe it was too complicated or I am to simple.
If there is a barrier to keep some people out – WHY? – this barrier should be made in a way which allows easy access for members. If it is complicated it cannot be of much interest either because a small number of people will usually not produce interesting things over a long period.
Kind regards

It might therefore be a good idea that, if the decision gets turned back, this thread is removed or archived.
Thus new visitors will not be bothered with this discussion and can enjoy the forum as ever.Cheers, Erik
Hi Erik,
I believe it may be better to leave this discussion as it is and readable to all future members/nonmembers/Scott owners/pirates/vikings/mountaineers….
It shows a democratic culture open for all and this makes a much better impression than any!!! closed sections “for members only”!
Kind regards

Wilfried,
There is a critical difference between Scotts and D-Rads or any other more popular bikes. That is there is enough demand for companies to invest in parts supply of more popular machines.
Hi Richard
the D-Rad with its very few machines -compared with Scotts – on the road is very much the same as the Scott (not technical aso…!) But it is rare and the community is very small and “special”. No one is producing spares to make big profit. Profit is possible with BMW, Horex; NSU but not with D-Rad.
The spares scheme is a very unique system for me and I believe it is a good idea. I contributed to the spares scheme some years ago.
I thought it may accelerate the discussion here when posting some provocative thoughts. But it should be allowed to raise also controversary statements.

You are welcome to join, then you can table a motion for the AGM next month!
Your suggestion to join the club to table a motion to the AGM sounds fine, but living in Austria and beeing a non native speaker it makes no sense for me, sorry. Also some postings with very very fine english wording here are a challenge for me to interprete correctly as I am not able to read between the lines. It would be nice if my english would be as good as my german – we would have some fun. But as long as my english is better then your german I have to try hard.
As an overseas member – image what means overseas! It means the big majority of the world! – I always feel more like a passive consumer in a british club.
As I stated earlier I was a member of the SOC and my membership falls down somewhere in the past without terminating my membership actively. If the SOC would have a different administration of membership I would still be a member.
Sorry if my posting sounded unfair it was not my intention. If you keep the language problem in mind you may forgive me.
Kind regards
Wilfried
Hi Erik,
I confess I wanted to tease a little bit. I believe it needs sometimes very contradictionary opinions to see the whole picture.
If the SOC concentrate on the core targets with modern technique and open minded thinking I will join again ASAP!
Kind regards
Wilfried
