    Thanks for the info, Roger,

I shall already be involved at the VMCC meeting on the Sunday. My problem is that my first wife does not share my interest in bikes, & in deference to this I have to ration my time to that which meets with domestic approval!
I certainly won’t get away with 3 days on the trot!!
((Got to work on this one, perhps she ought to visit family in Kent for a few days?— watch this space!!))

Thanks Jan I am not sure, I don’t thinks so as the one I need for my 1934 Scott would be for a rigid frame. I have a picture of the type I need would E-mailing it to you help to identify? My E-mail address is jeff.meehan@ntlworld.com

I love them.Much less mellow than my 1960 Brum.My Silk no 137 stood since 1980.I had no problem with seals but there was extensive sediment and corrosion in the cooling system-I have heard of the water jacket corroding through the block and water then draining into the crankcase.
What is the engine no of the one you are looking at?-last ones like mine suffer cooling problems if ridden hard-Roger Moss is sorting out a new needle for the carb for me.

    Hi Bruce
Beezumph Fri 9 july is european day, so I will ride the Scott and Ducati. It will be my first outing since last years crash and the bike has been re arranged to suit Paul Dobbs, so please don’t expect fireworks!
On Friday we get some good exotica from europe.
Saturday July 10th is British only day so I will be out on the Scott only. It is great fun pitting it against Tridents and often prevailing to the chagrin of proud owners and general amusement of spectators. I have become a little like an unofficial mascot at this meeting and once walked away with “Man of the meeting” award and “Best Competition bike” Considering the gleaming ranks of the triples and it was at their meeting, I thought this was quite generous!
Saturday is the VMCC long circuit Cadwell meeting and Paul Dodds will be riding the Scott. I need to get it on the dyno or fiddle about on the Beezumph days, as Paul says he loses ground to Ian Bain whose “Norton” motor is full of Jawa bits and runs on funny fuel. Two years ago, my bike was equally fas and accelerated and braked better, even if the handling was a bit frightening! In truth, I feel a bit of a fraud watching Paul ride it, but I made a deal and he is pushing me to sort things out that I never had time to do for myself.
So, If you can spare a weekend, or a day, do consider coming to Cadwell as this must be the very best weekend of the year! Kind Regards
    Roger

Forgive me if it goes all wrong, these are “dark forces” the nature of which I have little nollidge. By pressing “Reply” I presume I’m replying to Roger Moss,

P.S. See the old messageboard for earlier reply, & thanks for the explanation re. 4 bearing crank!!

    Hi Paulw,

to answer some of your questions,

you can update your country setting by clicking on the ‘profile’ link above. You don’t actually need your email account to log on once you have activated your acount, you just need your user name and password to log on from home or work.

You still can’t upload pictures to this forum at present but if you email some to me (via webmaster@scottownersclub.org) then i’ll put them on the website with any text you include.

If you want your username to be changed then let me know what you wnat it changed to and i’ll see if I can do it for you, the other option is for me to delete your account and then you can re-register with a new username ?

I must be getting old! it all looks so complicated, and when it would’nt work, I shouted at it and thumped the box that hums to itself. It is’nt spupid though, because when I returned with a 4lb lump hammer, it decided to work. And no I dont need emoticons as there isn’t one with horns and a bolt thru it’s neck. Otherwise we sally forth int our brave new world. Lets hope we have the same spirit as the previous one. I did like to see all the entries and have not found out how to do it here yet

    Dear Paul,
Thankyou for all your efforts. The new format will take some time to get used to.A few questions:can we post photographs and if so how?If we use 2 email addresses ie.one work and one home (the addresses differ but the user names etc would be the same) Should I just try?.How can I change my user name,I shortened it for convenience but then found that most members used their full names and on reflection I would like to do likewise. How does one insert ones location in the membership data listing?

    Hi Paul,
Thanks for the work you are doing on our behalf. Much appreciated. Like anything new it will take some getting used to. I used to teach people to use computers some while ago and had quite a number over 70 years of age who became pretty good, quite quickly. Age is an asset not a disablement. Perhaps sometime we can find out the average age of the users of the site. I’m 21 but unfortunately not for the first time 😆 😀
