Hello Peter, thats interesting: I see the same effect at my ’35 Flyer. Although not – yet – relined, the complete assembly seems to move once I engage the clutch. As I managed to cure slipping by generous flushing the plates with a solvent and furthermore slightly modified the fix point of the clutch cable to allow more “way”. Both botches are working fine since about 50km riding, but the clutch is still a pain. Could you please so kind to publish the name of your relining specialist? Many thanks, and kind regards from Germany, Olaf

Cheers Pete. Here’s the other side. I copied the exhaust design from a picture of one of the 1922 TT bikes as prepared by Kit Parker. Although we have cured most of the spitting back there are still blue flames from the exhaust occasionally !

    Hi Martin,

Thanks for your reply. I am away from home for the rest of the week but will email you at the weekend, if that’s OK?

    Kind regards

    <p style=”text-align: center;”>Hello Wilfried</p>
thanks for replying to me regarding the Scott exhausts.

I think you may be right that brixit complications and costs will make this just a lost dream for me.

If you could find a postage price and let me me know how much you want for the pipes I’ll see if I can afford them.

My address in the uk is

    5 Fleming Close Loughborough Leicestershire

    LE115YT

    Kind Regards

    Phil

I wish I were that handy.  I may get a multiple tool that drills, mills, and is a lathe.  May fit in the garage.

    Hello Wilfred

I have just come across your post and wondered if you might be selling the two exhaust pipes assuming you get a nice two in one original.

    kind regards

    Phil

Just to thrust this to the forefront after 19 years…I too am after a good condition brake plate if anybody has one available? Mine has wear on the cam guide tube…Any other mods appropriate for a Flying Squirrel? I’m not looking for originality as much as reliable braking!

Hi Bob, dont even think about it! Theres a good chance to damage the studs by this attempt – and this would mean complete dismantling.. Regards from Germany, Olaf
