If you can’t get a reduction gear, this bloke does pilgrim parts: https://www.petesbikes.co.uk A lot of the trouble with Pilgrim pumps is caused by worn end caps in my limited experience. Replacing them and the parts that act on them can improve the pump’s reliability.

Yes it did say petrol resistant. These cans have a separate vessel in the bottom from which you release the hardener and give it a good shake. It then lasts 5 or 6 hours. I wonder if I didn’t get enough thickness on, not that it should really make a difference. I once tried Halfrauds own ‘petrol resistant’ lacquer, which isn’t. Have you actually tested the Autotek?

Update on the the 2-K aerosol lacquer. Sadly the fuel leaked out of the filler and off came the lacquer! Don’t waste your money on it

I would second that, I did my Scott with it 20 years ago and it has worn well. Having said that, I feel very lazy lately regarding setting up the garage for spraying. I got very nice results on mudguards with coach enamel. I have just sprayed…deep breath: a little Honda. I used aerosol cans which are easy to use without too much mess. Petrol brings this stuff off as if it’s watercolour so I finished off with a coat of 2-pack lacquer which is now available in fancy aerosol cans. Hopefully It is as tough as the traditional 2- pack. It certainly gave a nice finish.

Surely you can always top up any extra oil needed after fuelling. Modern 2 stroke should mix straight away with the petrol.

Thats for the 1960 Birmingham. Generally its a very lucky man who buys a Scott project with a non – leaking rad. 🙁
